Borrowed from New Latin Eurōpaeismus, from Europae(us) (“European”) + -ismus (“-ism”), with both elements borrowed from Ancient Greek Εὐρωπαῖος (Eurōpaîos) and -ισμός (-ismós) respectively. The expected result in Latin, however, is *Eurōpaismus. Compare Greek ευρωπαϊσμός (evropaïsmós). Compare also Latin borrowings from Ancient Greek such as Iūdaismus (“Judaism”).
