   Landslides pose a persistent and widespread hazard in mountainous regions, especially in areas with a history of ancient landslides that are prone to reactivation. The landslide at Paifang Pedestrian Street in Daguan County, Yunnan Province, China, exemplifies this risk due to its location atop an ancient landslide deposit, making it highly vulnerable during extreme weather events.
