ghost forests

A form of ghost forest — A stand of dead or dying trees in a relatively intact state, typically occurring in coastal areas where rising sea levels, saltwater intrusion, and other factors lead to gradual tree death, though occasionally occurring in inland areas where a dam created a lake over a forest or where a forest has been killed by something.
