Meanings
plural kichlach
- a sweet cracker or cookie in Jewish cuisine
Even before the year 1800, there was a tendency to hold fancy Bar Mitzvah Seudot which led to sumptuary laws trying to limit the excess. Even so, in Eastern Europe, the party tended to be very modest, including some herring, kichel and schnapps.
