Meanings

- A macroscopic magnitude
The "pointer readings" corresponding to different values of a macromagnitude are associated with inequivalent Hilbert space representations of the algebra, and the appropriate Hilbert space for the measuring instrument can be represented as a direct sum of these Hilbert spaces.
