Meanings
plural pyrenocytes
- A transient cell derived from an erythroblast by removal of the nucleus.
Importantly, during enucleation non-muscle myosin IIB localizes to the abscission site between the future pyrenocyte and the future reticulocyte and is thought to be crucial for actomyosin contractility resulting in nuclear extrusion.
