Meanings
plural pyrotrons
- natural sciencesA magnetic mirror.
- A notional subatomic particle invented to explain cases of spontaneous human combustion.
Spontaneous combustion may sound like “no cause at all;” but it isn't, except, perhaps, for people who allegedly ignite while watching TV. Actually, even for that kind of urban myth, causation is presumed: pyrotrons, of course.
