Meanings
plural round dances
- agricultureA repetitive, circular movement made by a foraging honey bee in process of communicating to other workers that it has located a significant and nearby food source.
The round dance is never performed on a comb on which there are none or only a few bees, but it always takes place in the midst of a dense throng.
