Meanings
plural subphenomena
- A phenomenon which forms part of a larger phenomenon.
Net child labor comprises subphenomena with different, sometimes contradictory, evolutions. The increasing role of formal economy may artificially inflate the numbers of children considered working. Informal and family work may lead to underreported work, especially in historical contexts.
