You're far from advanced in all definitions of the word, so I hope you don't try this method, hurt your little wristie, then complain to the PBA that their bowlers are promoting bad release mechanics and are turning the balls to make the latest hook-in-the-box look much better on tv so the pro shop operators can pay off their mansions in Beverly Hills.

Erm, never heard it before. I'll ask around as where I work we have a few more senior people (in age I mean) who might know. Could be slang for bangle, as in on your wristie?!?!

He got a slap on the wristie off the Emp, and in a temper tantrum, turned to Chaos...even *before* the Heresy...*before* Horus....!

He had got his license to drive last month! 16 years old. He will almost certainly get a limp slap on the wrist and mummy and daddy will pay the increased insurance premiums. If a driver has a minuscule amount of alcohol in his or her blood or breath, EVEN IF NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR INFRACTION, they lose their license for at least six months and have to pay enormous fines and go to drunk school and all, but an inattentive driver gets charged with "inattentive driving" and get the wee wristie tokenly slapped.

Mahendra is 23, Perry 30, which seems like a reason for including Naga. OTOH, Perry is an offie, Naga a wristie, so maybe the selectors would prefer an offie, for some reason.

To the Indian squad and certain to play at least the first 2 tests are Slater (vying with the omitted Matt Elliott for one opening spot) and Gavin Robertson, who leapt sometime team-mate Freedman (a left arm wristie) and Young for a spinners^([sic]) berth.

Are there any former England leggies still alive who used to be able to bowl quite well? I think that Walter Robins and Freddie Brown are dead now, and I don't know about Jim Sims and Eric Hollies. Essex used to have a left-arm wristie. Perhaps if he's still around we could pick him? After all, they say spinners improve with age.

Having had to keep to a LH [left hand] wristie (albeit indoors), I can say that it's a bloody nightmare when compared to the RH [right hand] leggie. It's OK with a LH bat, but you don't ever get to see much of the ball otherwise since it's going sharply across the batsman's body.

But if I'm going to let a left arm wristie loose against them, I'd rather it not be someone with a f/c average of 40+ with the ball, and a test average of 50+ (albeit from only 4 tests - then again, one was against Zimbabwe, where he was outbowled by The Krap, who managed a 6-for).

I don't disagree about the entire package, but generally wristies do better in T20 than finger-spinners, and Zampa has done better than Agar abroad. That said, he's had more opportunities because he's a wristie, so it becomes a bit of a self-fulfilling wisdom.
