A reference to a meme posted on Twitter by Pat Dubois (@patdubois) who compared U.S. elections to a choice between "everyone gets a puppy" and "diarrhea forever", with the diarrhea option only losing by a tiny margin (see quotation below), with the diarrhea option being the Republican Party.
