Meanings
present singular third person œstruates · participle present œstruating · participle past œstruated · past œstruated
- obsoleteObsolete form of oestruate.
In animals, the periodicities of œstruation are little known, particularly in the wild state, but it is asserted that the larger animals do not œstruate sufficiently often to render it posble that in their case the duration of gestation can be a multiple of an œstrual period.
