Meanings
- archaicArchaic form of Fuzhou.
In the city of Fuh-chau I noticed one part of a street where shop after shop rang with the hammering of the copper-kettle makers; lower down combs were being made in every house ; while lower down still, every one seemed busy stretching skins over a wooden frame to make drums.
