When a TL is so good that mindbroken JOPs burn millions of tokens over months to push a narrative

Also, I wanted to point out that so far, seemingly no one in this thread had actually read the VN, and instead is either arguing about semantics, or is just being an obnoxious JOP elitist, like #4 and #8. Again, I want to know if this VN actually has a good plot, or if this whole thing is just one big circlejerk for Japanese learners, because based on the responses in this thread so far, it's beginning to look like it's the latter.
2026 June 21, what-if17, “Is it actually THAT good?”, in The Visual Novel DatabaseJOP go around and pretend shit is untranslatable, only for it to be translated into other languages. A tale old as time.
2025 April 8, u/No-Satisfaction-275, “What are some Japanese only visual novels that are top notch?”, in r/visualnovelsI actually slice of life games, the thing is... JOP tells that 'X' untranslated game is the best piece of media ever created by man when it's just another weeb recommendation, so that's why I ask.
2025 June 16, u/Mitsu_x3, “New vn fans are hilarious”, in r/visualnovelsr/visualnovels has been completely shit ever since these JOPs started to take over the sub. Like Jesus christ, everyone here is a nerd but those guys are fucking weird on another level of its own it’s scary. There’s a difference between encouraging others to learn Japanese and shoving it down others throat + jerking themselves off on their supremacy, unfortunately most of these JOPs fall on the second category.
2023 May 24, u/conanssc, “A sudden epiphany”, in r/visualnovelsAfter over a decade of naively believing the JOP circle jerk I finally played Baldr Sky and I thought it was just alright. I've never been a fan of criticizing a game because it did this instead of that but I feel like Baldr Sky was a long series of missed opportunities and wasted potential. I feel like it has a really interesting setting which is left mostly unexplored and seems to exist only as the backdrop for another tired plot twist driven anime melodrama, and whenever a genuinely interesting question is raised the game hurriedly throws the most pedestrian take possible at it so it can go back to focusing on VR mecha fights and mediocre romance.
