1. In plastic packaging, an absorbent pad placed underneath raw meat in order to absorb excess moisture and fluids (like blood) so as to prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria on the meat itself.

   Precisions' meat pads are used in tray-packed meat, poultry and fish packaging to absorb fluids.
