Meanings
plural phytoviruses
- biologyA plant virus.
Although RNA phytoviruses have been shown to recombine in the field, the proportion of recombinants generated during a single-host infection does not seem to reach the levels of their DNA counterparts, probably because cell co-infection by different genotypes is often limited.
