Meanings

nounnude-in (plural nude-ins)

plural nude-ins

  1. A form of peaceful protest involving nudity originating in 1960s counterculture.

The fact that nudity was a cultural taboo meant that it could provide a vehicle for dissent. Sometimes the dissent was generalized, as in the case of public nude-ins. Nudity outraged the majority of citizens, and that was reason enough for it.
